Sammie Lewis Taylor

Mr. Sammie Lewis Taylor was born June 01, 1950, in Newberry County, South Carolina to the late Nathaniel Taylor, Sr. and Catherine Davenport Taylor.

At an early age, he joined Mount Moriah African Methodist Episcopal Church in Prosperity, South Carolina.

Sammie was previously employed in the Mill as a Factory Worker.

He enjoyed fishing and sports, especially baseball, which he played locally.

 On Saturday, October, 07, 2023, Mr. Sammie Lewis Taylor departed this life at Lexington Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina at the age of seventy-three.

He leaves to cherish his significant other, Carolyn Bishop Rhodes; his five sons: Detrick Bishop, Reginald Taylor, Cepheus Glenn, Tevarres Taylor, all of Newberry, South Carolina, and Lewis Taylor of North Carolina; his four daughters, Vetrick (Tim) Boulware, Mary Glenn, both of Newberry, South Carolina, Shawanda (Bobby) Clark of Chapin, South Carolina, Vanessa Brown of Aiken, South Carolina; one sister, Linda (Otis) Langford of Newberry, South Carolina, five brothers: Nathaniel (Mary) Taylor, Jr., David (Carolyn) Taylor, George (Rose Mary) Taylor, all of Newberry, South Carolina, Sammie Taylor of Greenwood, South Carolina, Jerry (Debbie) Taylor of Maryland; Teshirra (Zach) Sims reared in the home, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
