Mr. Sammy Lee Simpson was born on April 28, 1950, in Laurens County, South Carolina to the late Sammy Simpson and Lillie Pearl Copeland Simpson.
He attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina and was a graduate of the Thomas Sanders High School Class of 1968.
For twenty years, Sammy was a Technician at Clinton Mills in Clinton, South Carolina until it shut down.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Simpson.
On Monday, May 8, 2023, Mr. Sammy Lee Simpson departed this life at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina and entered Eternal Rest at the age of seventy-three.
He leaves his precious memories to be cherished by his daughter, Tamika Leake; three grandchildren: Taviouzie (Dannica) Booker, Danni (Neil) Boyd, and Jaden Smith; four great grandchildren: Journi Booker, Jourdyn Booker, Caiden Boyd, and Ja'Sohn Booker; two brothers: Alfred Mosley and David Mosley; three sisters: Lillie (Kennie) Neely, Audrey (WC) Copeland, and Doris (Rufus) Brown; a special cousin, Gene "Butch" Copeland and a a host of other relatives and friends.
