Mr. Scott Alexander Williams was born on January 9, 1967 in Laurens County, South Carolina to the late John Williams and Josephine Vance Williams.
He was educated in the public schools of Newberry County, South Carolina and where he attended Newberry High School. He was a member of Mount Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church in Kinards, South Carolina.
At the time of his death, Scott was employed with Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina where he had given ten years of service. Anyone who knew him, knew he was a guy that loved to have fun.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Elbert D. "Scruce" Williams and one nephew, Quentavious Williams.
On Saturday, April 24, 2021, Mr. Scott Alexander Williams departed this world to enter into Eternal Rest at Greenwood Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood, South Carolina at the age of fifty-four.
He leaves loving and wonderful memories of his life with one devoted son, Eric Gilliam of Kinards, SC; one daughter, Nekeishia (Tevin) Bates of Newberry, SC; three grandchildren: Teara Bates, Ishanti Bates, and Zymere Bates; three brothers: James Williams of Newberry, SC, Richard Shorter of Whitmire, SC, and Gregory Shorter of Union, SC; four sisters: Annette (Michael) Reeder, Kimberly (Sam) Etheredge, and Margaret (John Willie) Fair all of Newberry, SC; and Sharon (Albert) Sturkey of Clinton, SC; four nieces: Shameeka Reeder and Nicole Williams both of Newberry, SC, Nakeshia Shorter of Columbia, SC, and Tanesha (Tisha) Williams of Laurens, SC; six nephews: one reared in the home- Quentin (Shana) Williams, Christopher Fair of Kinards, Sc, Douglas Williams, Shakedric Nelson, Ke'ondre Fair and Ke'ontavius Fair all of Newberry, two aunts: Judy Carolyn Williams of Greenwood, SC and Sarah E. Williams of Clinton, SC; two uncles: Jesse Williams of Greenwood, SC and Silas (Audrice) Williams of Clinton, SC; close friends: Buck Scurry of Mountville, SC, Alfred Gary of Clinton, SC, Minnie Davis Summers of Kinards, SC, Brenda Jean Gary of Clinton, SC and Brenda Jean Dandy-best friend from Temple Hills Maryland, Dorothy Dandy, and Cora Mae Dandy Jackson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
