Ms. Sonya Teresa Roberson was born April 26, 1966, to the late Olin F. Roberson and Sarah G. Roberson in Clinton, South Carolina and raised in Joanna, SC.
She was a member of Mount Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church in Kinards, South Carolina where she served faithfully in the WMS and the Usher Board.
Teresa was educated in the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina where she was a graduate of the Clinton High School Class of 1984. She furthered her education at Anderson College earning an associate degree in accounting in 1986. She received a BS degree from Benedict College in Accounting/Banking and Finance in 1988. She also joined the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Nu Theta Omega.
She was a very good steward of her money and often shared with her family her passion for managing money.
After thirty years of service, Teresa retired with the Internal Revenue Service. Her career began in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as an internal revenue specialist with her final position being a Bankruptcy Specialist.
After retiring, Teresa started a crafting hobby making unique earrings which she later turned into a small business called Just Resa Earrings and Things. Other hobbies included collecting Key Chains and Angels. She was also an avid thrifty and movie buff.
She lived her dash. She found joy in simple things, walking on the beach, visiting the local library, and traveling often to various countries. She played an active role in the lives of her niece, nephews, and cousins. She encouraged them to make good choices in life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bob Roberson.
On Monday, December 15, 2025, Ms. Roberson entered into eternal rest at MUSC Health in Columbia, South Carolina at the age of fifty-nine.
She leaves to cherish her fond loving memories three sisters: Debra R. Bowman, Pamela Roberson, Sarah Roberson; one brother-in-law, Joe Bowman; three nephews: Joshua Bowman, Deon, and Daon Roberson; one niece, Tasha Bowman: one great nephew, Phoenix Clark-Roberson; two uncles: John Earl Burton and Luther Burton; three aunts: special aunts: Diane B. Caldwell, Mary L. Burton, and Diane Burton; seven special cousins: Della Gibbs, Lamont Caldwell, Khaalisha Caldwell, John Earl Burton Jr., Cheryl Blackburn, Valerie Burton, and Barbara McBeth; her godmother, Bessie Robinson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
