Mr. Theodore Roosevelt Rice, Jr. was born March 10, 1945 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina to the late Theodore Roosevelt, Sr. and Mary Jimmie Gilliam Rice.
At a young age, he joined the New Prospect Baptist Church in Cross Anchor, South Carolina where he was a member of the gospel choir.
"June," as he was lovingly called, loved to fish, cut grass, and to sit in the sunroom on the front porch. Most of all, he loved watching the Atlanta Braves baseball games on television. He was a member of Rose of Bethlehem #443 Masonic Lodge, Clinton, SC.
After many years of dedicated service, he retired from Clinton Mills in Clinton, South Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Henry Allen Rice and Harold David Rice; and four sisters: Bobbie Jean Casey, Bertha Mae Montgomery, Bessie Kate Dawkins, and Zella Ann Rice.
On Friday, April 16, 2021, at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina, Mr. Theodore Roosevelt "June" Rice, Jr. departed this life and transitioned to Eternal Rest at the age of seventy-six.
He leaves to cherish loving memories, his loving wife of fifty-four years, Wyonne Leake Rice of the home; one son, Thaddeus (Mary) Rice of Simpsonville, SC; one daughter, LeeTisha (Eddie) Brown of Clinton, SC; four grandsons: Brian, Neal, Tevin, and Devon; two granddaughters: Aaliyah Zhani and Emaja; four great grandchildren and one on the way; two nieces reared in the home: Adrienne Burnside of Clinton, SC and Toni Rice both of Spartanburg, SC; one sister-in-law reared in the home, Debbie Ann (Dan) Burnside; one sister, Sharon Rice Robinson of Woodruff, SC; one brother, Jesse Rice of Woodruff, SC; one aunt, Mary Ruth Dogan of Woodruff, SC; five sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
