Mr. Thomas Higgins was born June 10, 1943, in Newberry, South Carolina to the late James Higgins, Jr. and Adell Conner Higgins
He attended Gallman High School in Newberry, South Carolina.
At an early age, Thomas joined Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Jalapa, South Carolina where he remained a faithful member until his death.
He was formerly employed at the State of South Carolina Department of Transportation for many years until his retirement.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Thomasina B. Higgins, he was preceded in death by his three daughters: Tina Higgins, Christine Higgins, and Vanessa Higgins; one sister, Minnie Janier; and one brother, John Higgins.
On Monday, July 17, 2023, Mr. Thomas departed his earthly life at Prisma Health Laurens County Hospital in Clinton, South Carolina, and entered his Eternal life in Glory at the age of eighty. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, and friend.
He leaves his precious memories to be cherished by his six grandchildren reared in the home, Frederick (Tiffany) Higgins, Ashley Higgins, Tiffany Higgins, LeKendrick Higgins, Heather Higgins, and Jasmine Watts; nine great grandchildren; five great- great grandchildren; eight sisters: Daisy Harris of Charlotte, North Carolina, Annie Higgins, Mattie Jones, Sallie Higgins all of Kinards, South Carolina, Ella (Amos) Smith, Willie Suber both of Clinton, South Carolina, Lillie Boozer of Lexington, South Carolina, and Adell (Charles) Thompson of Whitmire, South Carolina; three brothers: Charles (Jackie) Glasgow, John (Gloria) Glasgow both of Newberry, South Carolina, and James B. Higgins of California; two sisters-in-law, Vivian (James) Butler of Boynton Beach, Florida and Janice Rhodes of Newberry, South Carolina; two brothers-in-law: Tommy Brown of Newberry and Willie Boozer (who was devoted to him) of Clinton, South Carolina; two special friends: Mattie Kennedy and Thomas Williams, Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
