Mrs. Thomasina B. Higgins was born September 16, 1948, in Newberry, South Carolina to the late Willie Thomas Brown and Georgia Mae Robinson Brown. At the age of five, she went to live in .the home of her grandmother, Johnny Rae Robinson, who raised her.
Thomasina grew up attending Mt. Olive AME Church in Kinards, South Carolina. She later became a faithful member of MT. Zion A.M.E. Church in Jalapa, South Carolina.
She was formerly employed as a textile worker at Clinton Mills in Clinton, South Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three daughters: Tina Higgins, Christine Higgins, and Vanessa Higgins; two brothers: James Brown and Willie Brown; her mother and father- in- law: Adell and James Higgins; three brothers-in-law: John Higgins, Charles Harris, and Luther Joiner; a sister-in-law, Minnie Joiner; and one special friend, Ronnie Watts.
On Thursday, July 06, 2023, Mrs. Thomasina B. Higgins departed this life at Prisma Health Laurens County Hospital in Laurens, South Carolina, at the age of seventy-four.
She leaves her precious memories to be cherished by her loving husband, Thomas Higgins; six grandchildren reared in the home: Fredrick (Tiffany) Higgins, Ashley Higgins, Tiffany Higgins, LeKendrick Higgins, Heather Higgins, and Jasmine Watts; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; one sister, Vivian (James) Butler of Boynton Beach, FL; two half siblings: Janice Robinson and Tommy Brown; four sisters-in-law: Daisy Harris of Charlotte, NC, Mattie L. Jones and Sallie Higgins both of Kinards, SC, and Ella (Amos) Smith of Clinton, SC, Lillie Boozer of Lexington, SC; three brother-in-law: Willie Boozer who was devoted to her, Willie C. Suber, and Charles (Jackie) Glasgue; two special friends: Mattie Kennedy and Thomas Williams, Jr; and a host of other relatives and friends.
