Sharing PJ's Story
Sunrise...
Timothy Patrick O'Brian Moses Jr. was born on November 3, 1992, in Laurens County, South Carolina, to Timothy "Pat" (Emily) Moses, Sr. and Natasha (Bryant) Cheek.
A Life Well Spent...
Tim, or "PJ" as he was affectionately known, attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina and was a graduate of the Laurens District 55 High School Class of 2011. He excelled in academics, was a die-hard Clemson Tigers fan and thoroughly enjoyed his time during Clemson Football games. In 2015, he earned his Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering from Clemson University and in 2017, Tim completed Duke University's Master degree program in Biomedical Engineering. Upon his graduation in 2017, Tim moved to Boston, Massachusetts where he joined the Johnson and Johnson "J&J" Research & Development "R&D" Leadership Development Program.
While matriculating at Clemson, Tim was a member of the National Society of Black Engineers. He continued to pay it forward in his professional career and served as the J&J Vision Care R&D Internship Lead as well as spearheaded the R&D Intern Mentorship Program.
Tim met the love of his life, Lidia, in 2014, while participating in a research program in Greensboro, North Carolina. They were engage to marry in October of 2017 and married July 2018 in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. After graduating from the Leadership Development Program, Tim and Lidia moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where he started working for J&J Vision Care as a Process Development Engineer.
Tim and Lidia welcomed their daughter Giovanna "Gigi" in March 2021. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, an honorable son, as well as the proud dog dad of Hercules and Draco. PJ, at a young age, was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He exemplified integrity, purpose with humility, and left a legacy of honor, stewardship, wisdom, and excellence. He enjoyed watching football, gardening, playing with his dogs, and spending time with his family.
Sunset...
On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, Tim took his final walk from labor to reward as he entered eternal rest concluding his lifelong battle with sickle cell anemia at the age of twenty-nine.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Leroy Hill, Jr. and Timothy Moses; and his grandmother, Gwen Moses.
Those Who Remain...
In addition to his parents, Tim leaves to cherish fun and loving memories with his devoted wife, Lidia Moses; one daughter, Giovanna Moses; grandmother, Magnolia Sims; grandfather, Robert Suber; two brothers: Tyson Moses and Bryant "BJ" Cheek, Jr; five uncles: Alexander Moses, Leroy (Stephanie) Hill, III, Mack Hill, Benjamin (Andrea) Whitener, Rodney (Jenell) Aughtry; three aunts: Marcia (Allen) Butler, McKenzie (Trevis) Cromer, and Johnnie Tucker; father-in-law, Augusto De Barros; mother-in-law, Vera De Barros; brother-in-law, Nicholas De Barros; and a host of first cousins who he admired like siblings, great-uncles, great-great uncles, great-aunts, great-great aunts, family, and friends.
