Mr. Tommie Lee "Tom" Williams, a son of the late Robert Whitmore, Sr., and Mattie Williams Whitmore, was born on August 12, 1960 in Laurens County, South Carolina.
He attended public schools in Greenville County, South Carolina and was a graduate of Greenville High School in Greenville, South Carolina.
Later in life, Tom as he was known by many, joined White Plains Baptist Church in Mountville, South Carolina where he was a member of the All Male Choir.
After his service in the United States Army, he gained employment at Martha Franks Retirement Home, National Healthcare, and Presbyterian College. His most recent employer was Carolina Gardens of Laurens, South Carolina where he was employed as a cook which was something he enjoyed doing.
On Wednesday, May 22, 2019, Mr. Tommie Lee Williams departed his life at Laurens County Hospital in Clinton, South Carolina.
He leaves to cherish fond memories one son, Tommy Hogan of Washington, DC; three stepchildren, Veronica Hunter, Terry McCanty, and Gerard McCanty; one brother, Jessie B. Rice of the home, two special sisters, Shirley Rice and Patricia Bolden; a host of uncles and aunts by Granny Daisy Rice of Clinton, a special aunt, Pearl James; two special uncles, Nathaniel Makins and Delmar Richardson; aunts, the Allen sisters of Hunter's Court, Martha Rice, and Charlie Mae Yeargin; nieces, Letrice McGowan and Baby Harmonee, Selena Rice, Jazz and Tyesha Jones; nephew, Jessie F. Rice; Marcus Whitmore and Sharonda Gripper and families; a child that he loved very dearly, Lil Isaiah; special friends, Bennie Lee, B.B. Hughes, and Ann Burnside; a host of other relatives and friends.
Burial with military rites was in the Church Cemetery.
