Ms.Vanessa Leamon was born November 2, 1960 in Simpsonville, South Carolina to the late Willie James Leamon and Dollie Bell Wilson Leamon.
She attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina where she was a graduate of the Clinton High School Class of 1979.
Vanessa was a member of Duncan Creek Baptist Church in Laurens, South Carolina where she served as a member of the YWA Missionary Ministry and sing with the Singing Echoes. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was employed for many years at Lydia Mill in Clinton, South Carolina and the Beattle Plant in Simpsonville, South Carolina until her health declined.
"Van" as she was lovingly called, had many hobbies of "joys of life". She loved joking with her cousins and friends as she was always the life of the party who wanted to have fun in everything she did. She had a "Bosslady" mentality! When it was time to plan for the GWS family reunions, she kept everyone on their toes--Reminding of meetings, paying dues and being on time. Vanessa also had a host of family and friends she called daily and on special occasions just to say hello! She was a jewel and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her one sister, Terri D. Leamon; one brother, Perry V. Leamon; maternal grandparents: Edgar James Wilson and Arzie Bell Wilson; and paternal grandparents: Ed Leamon and Lola Bell Leamon.
Ms. Vanessa Leamon entered into eternal rest on March 8, 2025, at NHC of Laurens, Laurens, South Carolina at the age of sixty-four.
She leaves her cherished memories to her son Harold O’Neil (Tiasha) Madden, three sisters, Helen Latimore, Sandra Cheeks, and Bobbie Hunter Bishop; three aunts: Clarice S. Coleman, Ruth C. Simpson (Evangelist Cedric) Milton, and Willie Mae Wilson; one uncle, Willie James (Joann) Simpson; four nieces: Khadijah McDaniel, Skye Abrams, Brandi Redd, and Chaskisia Jennings: seven nephews: Jalair (Dornice) Leamon, Vante Leamon, Ricky Latimore, Christopher Blassingame, Kevin (Rochelle) Lattimore, Terrance Bishop, and Charles Jennings; two great nieces: Parris and Jahzara Leamon; three great, nephews: Jace, Jax, Tyjhon; and a host of other relatives and friends.
