Mr. William Howard Putman was born on March 25, 1946, in Laurens County, South Carolina to the late John Robert Putman and Emma Catherine Putman.
He was a member of Center Rabun Baptist Church in Gray Court, South Carolina. William was educated in the public schools of Laurens Conty, South Carolina graduating from Sanders High School. He later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps eventually going to serve in the Vietnam War where he received his Purple Heart medal.
He later became a member of the VFW Lodge #5208.
After over twenty-six years of employment, he retired from the Laurens County Landfill.
William loved working in his mancave and watching sports on TV.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death bu one brother, Robert Earl Putman.
Mr. William Howard Putman departed this life on Sunday, December 07, 2025, at his home in Laurens County, South Carolina and entered Eternal Rest at the age of seventy-nine.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Clatie Kinards Putman; five daughters; Leslie Graves, Vickie Wright, Chantay (Daniel) Hawthorne, Teresa Anderson, and Tammie Vance: three sons; Traverse Campbell, James Anthony Putman, and James Anthony (LaDana) Vance: one brother, Johnathan Putman: one sister, Elrita (L.B.)Sweeney: two sisters-in-law; Donna Richard and Darlene Bartee: four special friends: Kody Lawson; Kendall Prince, johnny Kinards, and Curtis Jennings; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
