Mr. Woodrow Philson was born in Laurens County, South Carolina on April 24, 1935, to the late Hall Philson and Lorene Blakely Philson.
He attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina. He was a member of Big Bethel Community Church in Ware Shoals, South Carolina.
After forty years of employment, he retired from Torrington Company in Clinton, South Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: Michael Philson and Ronald Philson; one sister, Janie Maude Philson-Mills; and three brothers: Herbert Lee Philson, Edgar Hall Philson, Jr., and Jesse Roy Philson.
On Saturday, July 16, 2022, Mr. Woodrow Philson departed this life and entered Eternal Rest at National Health Care in Clinton, South Carolina, at the age of eighty-seven.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Patricia Philson; two sons: Windell (Jennifer) Philson of Fountain Inn, SC and Christopher (Tara) Philson of Simpsonville, SC; two daughters: Miranda (Tavis) Lilley of Greenville, SC and Lashone Hope of Lexington, SC; four step-daughters: Pamela (Willie C) Campbell of Clinton, SC, Jacqueline Miller, Angela Miller, and Barbara (James) Cheeks; thirty-two grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; his brothers: James Putsey Philson of Laurens, SC, and Rosedell "RD" (Sharon) Philson and Harvey Philson both of Clinton, SC; two sisters: Reverend Carolyn (James) Gibbs of Clinton, SC and Evelyn (Reginald) Davis of Christiansburg, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
